1882 Dr. Drescher\'s Pocket Electro-Magnetic Machine No. 3 * Complete & Very Fine:
$255.00

I think it\'s safe to say that if -- after checking out all my listings this week -- you can\'t find anything that interests you, you either aren\'t really looking, or there\'s nothing in the world that you find interesting anymore. I\'ve put together what\'s probably my largest, best, most diverse and cleanest assortment of mechanical, technological and musical antiques of the year, and regardless of how discriminating your tastes might be, I think you\'ll find something you like.
Here\'s a \"Dr. Drescher\'s Pocket Electro-Magnetic Machine No. 3.\" It is the nicest example I\'ve ever seen, and it\'s the only complete example I\'ve ever seen -- right down to the original lead batteries in the left hand compartment. The machine was sold in the U.S. by F.G. Otto (Otto also marketed Capital Cuff music boxes), and although the label indicates the patent belonged to Dr. Drescher, I believe it actually belonged to Adolphe Gaiffe, who manufactured and marketed an identical electro-therapeutic device in Paris beginning in the late 1870\'s. Regardless, it\'s a beautiful little electric machine, and as I said earlier, it\'s original throughout, and its condition is exceptional.
The pictures tell the story better than I can. Please look them over carefully and consider them central to the description.
The apparatus, with its cabinet closed, measures just 7 1/2\" x 4\" x 1 3/4\", and everything pictured above fits snugly inside. Shipping weight, properly packaged, will be about 4 lb.That\'s about it. I will pack it carefully. I\'ve been shipping antique phonographs and wireless sets for years, and I know how to get fragile antiques to you safely. Auction participants with no prior feedback history should also contact me before placing a bid. Buyer prepays and includes shipping. Paypal okay.
