For sale is an advanced telescope package for those who areinterested in astrophotography and long exposure imaging, and do not want topay full retail price.
This scope is in GREAT condition and used occasionally, always stored inside when not in used. It was more of a display item in thehouse than serving outside where it supposed to be.
When outside, theCGEProMount worksfantastic, polar aligns extremely accurate and carries a large payload ofadd-on equipment with no problems. It is almost overkill for the 11\"telescope. It was never meant to be just for visual observing, butimaging.
This is a good size scope without breaking your back whensetting up and down. The OTA is light enough and the mount can be taken apartin small chunks fordisassemble.
Current in-store retail price is $7999. You save almost$1400.

The Celestron CGE Pro 1100HD telescope has newand unique big aperture 11” aperture aplanatic (free from coma and correctedfor spherical aberration)EdgeHDhigh definition/high contrastSchmidt optics. The advanced EdgeHD optical system uses a dedicated dual-elementfield flattener lens made from premium Schott optical glass in its centralbaffle tube to reduce off-axis coma and produce aberration-free images across awide 42mm image circle (as large as the diagonal of a 35mm negative or largeformat CCD chip and ideal for astrophotography). And those images look superbthrough the supplied ultra-premium 23mm 2” Celestron Axiom 82° field eyepiece.Even better, those EdgeHD optics are mounted on an observatory-grade CelestronCGE Pro go-to German equatorial mount.
In addition to reduced off-axiscoma, theEdgeHDoptics deliver an astrograph-quality focalplane more than three times flatter than standard Schmidt-Cassegrains anddramatically flatter than competing coma-free designs. Stars are smaller andmore concentrated, creating brighter images and allowing you to see down to afainter magnitude than other equally-sized telescopes. You see sharp point-likestars to the very edges of some of the largest CCD and DSLR chips availabletoday.
For the ultimate in brightnessand contrast, the CGE Pro 1100HD optical tube has state-of-the-art StarbrightXLT multicoatings. Its light grasp is almost 1600 times that of even thesharpest dark-adapted eye, revealing to your eye and camera star clusters, nebulas, planets, and galaxies in amazing detail. The Fastar-compatible opticaltube even allows imaging down to an incredibly-fast f/2 focal ratio usingoptional accessories.
The Celestron CGE Pro 1100HD’sobservatory-grade CGE Pro mount can carry payloads of up to 90 pounds, overthree times the weight of the scope’s 27.5 pound 11” optical tube. This makesthis mount/OTA combination rock-steady, no matter how many heavy visual andimaging accessories you add to the system.
The scope’s advanced NexStarcomputer hand control makes finding over 40,000 of those stars and objects easyand automatic, so you can spend more time lookingatthoseobjects, rather than lookingforthem.
Granted, many people might feelthat a 154 pound mount with a 90 pound payload capacity is a case of overkillfor a 27.5 pound optical tube. For those who must travel to a dark sky site touse their scope, that might indeed be the case. That’s why Celestron also putsthe same big 11” EdgeHD optical tube on the lighter CGEM mount (#CGEM11HD), tomake travel easier. However, if you have a permanent observatory site, the CGEPro 1100HD may well be the perfect scope for you. The superb flat-fieldreduced-coma optics of the 11” CGE Pro 1100HD are big enough, and good enough,to keep you happily observing and imaging for years to come. And if you do getaperture fever, or apo fever, the CGE Pro mount has the payload capacity andperformance to let you add virtually any size or weight optical tube you likelater on, without having to upgrade your mount.
