I am selling an rare, vintage Lumicon \"Premium+\" Grade Ultra HighContrast(UHC) Nebula Filter. It is specially designed for visual astronomy in areas of severe light pollution, and is guaranteed by Lumicon \"to yield higher visual contrast on planetary and emission nebulae than any other filter at any other price!\"** The filter screws into the threads of most 1.25-inch eyepieces, and comes with the Lumicon plastic case (with padded interior) and the Lumicon UHC Filter Specification Sheet. On the back of the plastic case it has the actual percent transmissions of the filter for Oxygen III at 496 nm & 501 nm, and for H-Beta at 486 nm.
From the Specification Sheet, a limited quantity of selected premium filters were available from Lumicon at a 25% higher price, \"which have 5% to 10% higher transmission (generally greater than 90%) for the important nebula emission lines\"** (see above). My filter is one of these selected premium filters, and is rated at the ultra rare \"Premium+\" grade (It says \"Prem+\" on the back of the plastic case). Lumicon no longer offers Premium (or Premium+) grade UHC filters to the public. Therefore, now is your chance to buy the best of Lumicon\'s famed UHC nebula filter, which would probably be priced 25% above Lumicon\'s current list price of $99.95 if available (or about $125.00).
This beautiful filter is in excellent condition and has no scratches or cleaning marks. There is a little finish wear on the threads of the filter, from attaching the filter to eyepieces. You should be very satisfied with your purchase of this filter, which was used only occasionally. This type of filter (not even considering the \"Premium+\" grade) was out-of-stock at Lumicon at the time of my posting. So forget the wait, save over $45 on a $79 purchase ($125 - $79 = $46), and buy a rare Lumicon UHC nebula filter that\'s no longer available. It seems like a no brainer to me! I\'m selling the filter only because I\'ve sold my telescope.
