Meade 2" Color Filter Set of 5 FREE USA SHIPPING Meade color filter set of 5. These are top quality optical glass filters with metal stackable cells! Not cheap plastic ones, and they have full sized filter glass. This is an excellent deal for quality filters. These filters have anti-reflection coatings on Both Sides! Most color filters do not. Result: Higher contrast. Here are the colors:YELLOW #12 for Saturn, GREEN #56 for the Moon, BLUE #80A for Jupiter, RED #25A for Mars & Moon ND96-.06 Every color you will need for lunar and planetary observing with a nice case at a low price. You can't go wrong with this one! Here's what Meade says about them and how to use them: 1) Meade Filter Set includes #12, # 25A, #56, # 80A & ND96-0.6 Meade filters : # 12 Yellow (74% transmission): Contrasts strongly with blue-colored features on Jupiter and Saturn, while enhancing red and orange features. Lightens red-orange features on Mars, while reducing or blocking the transmission, and thereby increasing the contrast, of blue-green areas. Useful in increasing the contrast of lunar features in telescopes 6" aperture and larger. # 25A Red (14% transmission): It is useful primarily upon Jupiter, Saturn & Mars, but also increases the contrast between Mercury and bright blue skies during daylight or twilight observations. It is only useful upon telescopes with apertures of 8.0" or larger. # 56 Green (24% transmission): Use on telescopes 8" aperture and larger to reject blue- and red-toned structures on the surface of Jupiter and thereby increase their contrast relative to lighter parts of the disc. Also use for the enhancement of Saturn's cloud belts and polar regions. Strongly increases contrast of Mars' polar ice caps, and increases contrast of atmospheric phenomena on Venus. # 80-A Blue (30% transmission): A popular filter for the study of Jupiter and Saturn. Enhances contrast of rilles and festoons in Jupiter's cloud belts, as well as details of the Red Spot. Brings out detail in Saturn's belts and polar phenomena. Very useful as a contrast-enhancing lunar filter. # ND96-0.6 Moon Filter ( 25% transmission) A neutral density filter can be your best friend when viewing bright objects, especially the Moon! In fact, many so-called Moon Filters are actually neutral density filters. A neutral density filter does not change the color of the moon or other objects, it just lowers the light coming to your eye so all that brightness doesn't keep you from seeing smaller or fainter details. In other words, using a ND (neutral density) filter on the Moon is like using sunglasses on a bright, sunny day! We found a gently used set of these in our warehouse.
