A 19th Century Antique Tripod Desk Magnifier of Lacquered Brass with Glass Lenses.

* Ideal for reading and for use with Charts, Maps, Documents, Coins, Banknotes, Specimens or Stamps etc.*

The Butterfly Wing in the Photographs is for demonstration purposes only.

With a Threaded Height Focus adjustment as shown, this works smoothly and firmly with no slack or noticeable wear.

* The magnification of the image is also dependent on the distance of the Eye from the Lens itself.*

The Lenses' Retaining Ring runs smoothly and firmly, it tightens fully on clean Threads keeping everything in place with no movement.

** This is an original period item, it is not a reproduction or cheap copy of which there seem to be many.**

With only extremely minor wear to the Lenses, nothing that affects the clarity in use, all as shown and demonstrated, gives a sharp and bright image.

The Wooden Spacer which holds the Lenses apart has a slight loss but is not cracked or weak.

The Body has minor patina of age and use and is intact with no losses, structural issues or major damage.

The whole item is structurally sound, the Legs are firm and stable with no movement, (they will unscrew), it sits evenly.

An interesting, original and practical item, perfect for a Collection and / or use.

Shown comprehensively in the many pictures, please examine them in close up before you bid to satisfy yourself as to condition, suitability, etc. of the item(s).

I will always show items in their true light and will never deliberately hide a negative or detrimental aspect.

Measurements are as shown.

Weighs approx :- 71.0 gms, not packed for Shipping.

Any questions please get in touch, and good luck should you decide to bid.

* I will Post in the U.K. by Royal Mail First or Second Class Recorded Mail, and Worldwide by Royal Mail International Signed For, proven over the last few years to be reliable and secure methods of Shipping.*
