Description
An Original Period Antique 19th Century Lacquered Brass Microscope with Tweezers and three Slides, all in its Fitted Wooden Case.
In good used condition as shown clearly, with some patina of age and use, but with no major damage or structural issues.
The Sliding Barrel Focus operates smoothly, firmly but freely.
Everything works as it should, including the Mirror despite the degradation of the silvering to its underside.
The Microscope works very well, magnification is good and clear, focus is precise, in use the image is in the round and pin sharp.
The Lenses have very minor surface wear but nothing that affects the end result, and certainly no major damage or looseness.
All Lens Frames run smoothly and tighten fully on their Threads.
The Three Objective Lenses will unscrew and separate as designed, they can be mounted individually or in any combination.
The Three Glass Slides are all good with no cracks or major damage.
The Case is in good order and very serviceable, the Hinges are sound, and the Closures work.
A nice collectible and / or usable Antique Microscope.
