Fine early 19th Century blown three mold inkwell in the pattern McKearin lists as GII-18. This pattern is said to have been made at the Coventry Glass Works in Connecticutt, between 1820 and 1840.The inkwell is in an attractive olive amber color. 2 1/4\" diameter at the base, 1 1/2\" tall. There is no damage that I can find. The glass is blobby around the opening; this is in the making. The color on the bottom is darker on one side edge than on the other. I think the glass probably pooled more on the dark side. There is an open pontil scar. Beautiful example of an early American glass inkwell.
