THIS IS WHAT YOU\'RE BIDDING FOR: Here\'s a fairly unusual one, a Frena No. 2 box camera, made by Beck of England around 1895, for 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch exposures on special notched film sheets in the unique internal tilting magazine. For such a scarce advanced model of box camera that\'s so rarely seen today, this example is in especially excellent condition, still complete and intact and functional, with lovely plush leather exterior covering, sturdy heavy leather carry strap, all sorts of interesting little windows and hatches for the lens and shutter and viewfinders, and that bizarre curved control handle on the side that rotates back and forward to move exposed film sheets to the storage area in the back. Wow! Definitely one of the more unusual and complicated box cameras you\'ll ever see! (Please note, there are many incorrect references to this classic camera that state the mechanism \"revolves 360 degrees\" to move the film sheets. No! That is not correct! When the camera is loaded, the handle rotates the internal mechanism backward only 180 degrees to deposit the sheets into the back, then rotates back and slightly forward to move the next sheet into taking position. Okay, then remember these two important points about the Frena: the mechanism will only rotate back when there are actually sheets in the internal spring powered tray, and when loaded if you try to rotate the mechanism further back than 180 degrees you will cause permanent damage! So please be careful when handling any Frena model, thanks.)
