A beautiful and genuine antique brass cased telescope. A lovely example showing beautiful aged surface patina- whilst remaining in excellent working condition. Note the eye piece has an adjustible aperture. All lenses etc free of chips and viewing is remarkably clear for such an old instrument. A stitched leather housing to the main drum as shown is also in fine fettle. I have unscrewed everything to show close up pics of every possible aspect of the piece.
The telescope measures 27.5cm when fully closed and opens up to approx 66cm when everything is pulled open.
The only markings I see are the graduated numbers as shown, hand engraved and confirming the early nature of the instrument- which I feel no bidder could be disappointed to win- a real find!
