PAIR OF GEORGIAN SPECTACLES CONTAINED WITHIN A PAPIER MACHE CASE.
Dating to the early part of the 19th century, the silver glasses are not without faults and have had repair at some time in their life. One of the rims has had a little welding, a lens has a chip and the extending wig temples have some buckling to them. The spectacles are well hallmarked although mostly illegible so difficult to date precisely.
The case measures 6\" (15cm) in length, still has the original velvet fabric to the inside, opens and closes nicely and shows no loss to the mother of pearl inlay.
The items have not been cleaned, better left to more capable hands, I shall leave the images to complete my description and welcome all questions.
