HENLEY\'S DISCHARGER - INDUCTION COIL EXPERIMENTATION, VICTORIAN:
$282.51
You are looking at an antique Henley\'s Discharger, used in Victorian times for high voltage experiments with an induction coil.
The mahogany base measures 7\" x 4\" with the lacqered brass articulated discharger rods mounted on posts 4\" tall. There\'s an ebonised wooden platform for performing the various demonstrations once the discharge rods are wired to the output of an induction coil. The electric spark could be passed through a variety of liquids, crystals, powders, etc to observe the effect.
These were popular during the late 19thC and into the early 20thC, so I would date it from 1870 to 1920.It\'s French and very likely made by Pericaud.
This is a great opportunity to own a nice example of this classic of Victorian physics.
