This is a fascinating antique little pocket spectroscope made by John Browning of London. It breaks down light into its separate light components and these pocket versions were often used in Victorian times to help forecasting the weather by analysing the water content of clouds. The size of the slit is adjustable and the eyepiece slides in and out to adjust the focus. It seems to be fully functional producing a lovely rainbow of colour when you look through it. It is in a little soft leather case and is 8.5 cm long and 1.5 cm diameter.Payment
