This auction is for a 1999 Meade full-thickness 4.5-inch f/8 mirror from their best small reflector model, the 4500. This mirror is in fantastic condition and is ready for immediate use upon delivery. Swapping this into your Meade mirror cell should only take about 30 minutes at longest. Note: this mirror will work in ANY 4.5-inch model Newtonian reflector with a detachable mirror cell.These Taiwan-sourced mirrors have never failed to please me or the small crowd it is serving. The figure on this model is typical excellent quality and will resolve planetary images very nicely with high-quality eyepieces. Over the many years I have been repairing and helping fellow beginner stargazers, those who own these nice performing, small reflectors find that damaging the mirror is on their criteria. Junior drops his toy cars or soldier toy down the tube and the mirror is forever pitted. You clean the mirror for your first time using an SOS pad and the coating is shot! The mirror is coated in soap and you drop it in the sink; now you have many mini mirrors! These are real instances I\'ve come across. If you have a destroyed 4.5-inch primary mirror and your scope is an f/8 (910mm) model, this auction will get you back in the stargazing game. Comes as seen.
Special note: THIS MIRROR CANNOT BE USED IN A COMPACT 4.5-INCH REFLECTOR. THESE REFLECTORS WILL HAVE A FOCAL LENGTH OF 1000MM. THIS MIRROR WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE ITS FIGURE WILL NOT COMPLY WITH THE BUILT-IN BARLOW FOCUSER DESIGN!
