Up for sale: Set of sextant + telescope both made by the most knownOpticianLennie Of Edinburgh.
The sextant:No missing parts - excellent condition, the only negative pointer is the mahogany case which is in \"OK\" working order condition but as you can see in the pictures have seen some better days.All of the lenses and glasses are in great clear condition.A accuracy certificate is attached to the inside part of the case, it is dated 19 - 7 - 46 and hand signed.The signature \" Lennie. Edinburgh.\" is stamped on the sextant along with the Number 44 (year/serial No???) and the acronyms RD.Honestly, I have no idea how old is the sextant, since the certificate is from 1946 I can only assure it is before this date.From my research, the Lennie was an Optician and made many telescopes and binoculars but only few sextants and they are very rare.The scale is divided into degrees and minutes from -5 to 120 degrees10\" inch(25cm)in diameterin a fitted caseWeight 6.2 Lbs (2.8 Kg)
