This clock is a very nice extremely rare original Terrestial revolving world globe mystery mantel clock, the clock was patent "The Empire Clock"The clock has a brass base which encloses the superb movement with a brass body to the clock which supports the brass arm which supports the 24 hour time ring with black and red numerals and the terrestial world globe, the support of the globe is stamped with the makers BreveteThe brass has a superb patina to it which is acquired through age, the bronze does show wear to it but is exactly how you would want to see it as it only adds to its character and authenticityThe clock is in great condition for age with only very very minimal age wear to the globe but all totally original and still looks amazingThe terrestial world globe has a gear to the bottom of it which is in turned linked to all the gears of the movement so revolves around accordingley with the movement with a time reading arm which drops down the globe from the top and reads the correct time on the 24 hour time ring which goes around the whole circumfrance of the globe. From the time ring you can also see what time it is at any location in the world by locating the time reading arm over that particular country and lining it up with the time ringThe globe also has a fixed arm with a planet at the top of it which represents the sunThe clock has a 8 day platform escapement movement located in the base with original platform escapement. The movement is in full working order and all linked to the terrestial globe so the movement rotates the terrestial globe exactly how it should.
