Here is a mid to late 19th century milk glass inkwell in the form of a barrel made by the Senate Ink Company. It has four pairs of raised bands running over the top. On one side is a raised S. I. COMP. The pouring neck rises at the top and has a smooth hand formed rim. There’s an old cork stopper in place. It is rare and has a unique shade of white. And it is in really good shape with no chips, nicks, or cracks. The body and neck have no scratches or lines. On the very top of the rim three tiny thin dark lines radiate out. One is in two parts. At first I thought they were inclusions, but I think it is ink that stained little scratches. There’s two other microscopic ones on the outside edge, too. 2 3/8” long. 2 1/2” tall. About 1 7/8” wide.
