I purchased this tripod to hold a level laser device. The construction of this unit is fair. The big issue is on the top where my laser connects (or your camera) onto the tripod. There is a flip action that when you connect your camera enables you to position camera to 90 degrees. The problem is when you flip back to the normal position, it will not lay flat despite the locking screw. In other words, instead of my laser being level, it is tilted up by a few degrees making this tripod not useful for my application.

It took a bit of research online to find the right plate for my Sunpak 6464 tripod I bought used. The plate installed onto camera easily and fits on the tripod perfectly. The bubble level is a useful plus.
