  • Dream come true

I did a lot of research before I settled on the CPC 800. I use to own a 6" Newtonian and wanted a scope with better light gathering capabilities and one that was easier to transport. The S-C was the obvious choice. It was a hard choice between the 800 and the 925, but the 800 won out based on its weight and smaller size. I have not been disappointed. I read a number of reviews of this scope by amateur astronomers much more serious and knowledgeable than myself. Refer to those for the details of why this is such a good scope. However, I will say this, I have had more difficulty than most with getting the scope aligned. It has many options for alignment and I have struggled with 2 or 3 of them. Unfortunately, since purchasing this telescope, we have had very few clear nights for me ...

  • CPC800 - Great Equipment

The CPC 800 is a dream for someone who wants to get into more than just a toy as a telescope. With computer controlled drive and GPS technology to assist in alignment, the CPC 800 will have you up and viewing in minutes. I replaced the standard viewfinder scope with a Telrad Bullseye 1:1 finder, and alignment literally takes less than five minutes. The CPC 800 follows whatever object you select from it's broad data base, and will give hours of viewing pleasure. For it's 8" diameter mirror and solid structure, the weight of the telescope is managable for most anyone. It is highly portable, and the tripod, with 2" stainless steel legs, provides a firm foundation for the scope. I recommend the CPC 800 to anyone wanting to step up from the ordinary and get a real taste of science.

  • Great beginner telescope!

Awesome telescope. Easy to setup and use for a beginner! The unit is constructed very well and the base is unbelievably solid with the telescope mounted on it.
