The Heritage-114P with its superb parabolic mirror provides excellent all-roundperformance for the observation of the Moon and planets and Deep-Sky objects.
The Virtuoso™ mount provides a stable platform and will track night sky objectsautomatically once located. The telescope can be slewed automatically in bothaxes, at five different speeds, via the mount’s electronic keypad.
A great feature of the Virtuoso™ is the patented Freedom-Find™ dual-encodertechnology which also allows the telescope to be moved manually in either axiswithout losing its alignment or positional information, giving the userenormous convenience and flexibility during observing sessions.
Furthermore, the Virtuoso™ mount can be upgraded to GoTo by purchasing aSynscan™ AZ GoTo handset and cable, allowing 42,900+ night sky objects to beautomatically found from its extensive database.
As well as its superb astronomical functionality, the Virtuoso™ mount has a lotof other clever features for photography (camera not included):
Camera Cruising:Take photographs automatically with your DSLR atup to 6 preset positions. The mount will stop at each predetermined positionand automatically trigger the camera’s shutter release. (Canon-D electronicshutter release cable supplied but other Skywatcher cables are readilyavailable)
Video Cruising/Time Lapse Photography:The mountcan automatically move your video camera through up to 6 preset positionswithout any pause. Up to 5 speeds can be selected in this mode (see below)

SKY-WATCHER DELUXE MIRROR COATINGS
Most reflectors today usually have a coat of aluminium as the mirror surfaceand then an overcoat of silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide to protect it.Silicon dioxide produces a much more durable coat than silicon monoxide butrequires specialisedequipment to apply it and is therefore more expensive.Protection is needed, because in most reflectors, the mirror is open to theelements and deterioration of the reflective layer reduces the resolution ofthe telescope.ALL Sky-Watcher reflectors are Multi-Coated with Silicon Dioxideas standard for Optimum Durability and Long Term Performance.
