This is for a fabulous and beautifully preserved pair ofGeorgiansterling silver glasses dated to 1827. They have green tinted lenses and have the original matching side shield lenses that are hinged and wrap around the face. These would be for sunglasses rather than for reading but of course any lenses can be fitted. The lenses are a more unusual half oval shape and again the side shield lenses are a matching shape. The arms are hinged and the silver carries a full set of English sterling silver hallmarks dating them to London 1827 along with the female silversmiths initials M.H for Mary Ann Holmes. They are in fabulous condition considering their age, there are no splits in the silver, no cracks in the lenses and no play in the hinges, they really are as good as you find. They are also extremely usable...if you are thinking of actually rocking a pair of Georgian specs as your winter look and need a pic of them being worn let me know, they look very good on. They measure 115mm (4.5\") across, by 33mm (1.25\") square at the lenses.
